About this opportunity


Welcome to International Units IT Services, where we deliver development and know-how to our business units in International Units (London, New York & Shanghai), Structure Loan Services and Corporate & Institutional Banking. We deliver different IT solutions to our business stakeholders, including core banking functionality to our international branches, loan management solutions and portfolio management solutions. The systems we maintain are a mix of vendor-based systems and Nordea developed applications and integrations on different technical platforms.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Being responsible for one or more components in the systems and support upgrades to higher versions
  • Being a part of scrum team and working close together with business, application maintenance and other technology areas to deliver on the backlog and move toward the strategic target picture for the environment
  • Improving delivery pipelines and reducing technical debt
  • Closely collaborating with business and other IT areas

You’ll join a team working with front office solutions for international divisions. The role is based in Gdańsk.

Your experience and background:


Required qualifications:

  • Experienced full stack Java developer
  • Experience with WebSphere, Micro services, Hibernate
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience with Oracle and GIT
  • Goal oriented with a proven track record of meeting goals and deliveries
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Advantageous qualifications:

  • Front end experience would be an advantage (as we have around 3 to 4 apps with front end technology in IU)
  • Experience with agile development
  • Experience with Jira, Bamboo,Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven (or other CI/CD)
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python
  • Experience with Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
  • Experience in banking or Investment Banking
  • Relevant university qualifications
